Welcome to Field Beck holiday accommodation
Field Beck is a house full of character with parts dating back over 250 years. We have furnished it carefully and the house has escaped too much modernisation, retaining many of its original charming features.
This elegant Georgian house superbly positioned in the ancient medieval village of Cartmel with beautiful views of Cartmel Priory and the Lakeland fells.
We offer traditional self-catering accommodation for 6 adults and 2 children comfortably. The house will sleep 8 adults and there are two loos, but as there is only one bath (with shower over) 6 is probably a more practical maximum number. We can also offer discounts for smaller groups.
Set in a quiet lane on the edge of the ancient village of Cartmel, Field Beck looks like the sort of late Georgian house that Jane Austen might have lived in. It is a Grade II Listed building and all of its light and airy rooms catch the sun. The house has been lovingly restored and furnished to keep its historic character and charm.
Field Beck was built on the site of the medieval tithe barn and is surrounded by a delightful well maintained walled garden with a pond, a stream and a patio that is a real sun trap - perfect for barbeques! It's secluded, sheltered and sunny with patio furniture so you can relax and take in the countryside and views of Cartmel Priory.
On the ground floor is a sitting room, with log fire and Freeview TV, a dining room, a breakfast room, a scullery and a kitchen which features 1950's style stainless steel units.
On the first floor are 2 double bedrooms (1 with washbasin), a twin bedroom and a bathroom. Above is a large attic with twin beds and an extra TV.
Beneath the house are the original cellars, with stone flagged floors, an extra cloakroom and a games room with snooker table.
